Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday expressed condolences over the death of a 14-year-old boy who succumbed to Nipah in Malappuram.

State Health Minister Veena George reported that the boy, under treatment at Kozhikode medical college, died after a massive cardiac arrest on Sunday morning.

Highlighting the need for public vigilance, the Chief Minister urged citizens to avoid practices that could lead to Nipah infections, such as consuming partially-eaten fruits.
