A food poisoning incident has affected around 80 students at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Ashram Method Inter College in Mehroona village, officials announced on Monday.

The students fell ill with symptoms of stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhea after consuming dinner on Sunday night. District Magistrate Divya Mittal confirmed that the condition of the affected students is stable, and an investigation is currently underway.

According to an official statement, some of the students were treated on-site by a team of doctors led by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), while two students, Akash and Nitesh, received further treatment at Maharishi Devraha Baba Medical College. A team from the Food Safety and Drug Administration has collected food samples for testing and further actions will be taken based on the results. District Magistrate Mittal and Superintendent of Police Sankalp Sharma visited the hospital to check on the students. The investigation will determine the cause and those responsible.
