A tragic accident occurred in Jagraon, resulting in the death of seven-year-old Gurman Singh and injuries to five others when a school bus careened into a tree.

The Punjab State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has taken serious cognizance of the incident and has ordered the senior superintendent of police to submit a comprehensive report by Thursday.

According to police, the mishap was due to the bus driver losing control of the vehicle. The injured students are currently receiving medical treatment. Commission Chairman Kanwardeep Singh stressed the importance of adhering to the Safe School Vahan scheme to ensure student safety.
