Several hospitals, including AIIMS and Safdurjung, as well as a mall in Delhi, were subjected to bomb threat emails on Tuesday, prompting immediate searches by the authorities, officials confirmed.
Emergency calls were received from various hospitals such as Nangloi and Primus Hospital in central Delhi, reporting the threats, according to a spokesperson from Delhi Fire Services (DFS). Fire tenders, bomb detection teams, and police rapidly reached the locations to conduct thorough inspections, the official added.
The emails, sent via Gmail at 12:04 PM, listed approximately 50 government and private hospitals, declaring that explosives were hidden in black backpacks on the premises. The email threatened mass casualties and claimed a group named 'COURT' was responsible. A similar threat was also received at central Delhi’s Chanakya Mall, although no suspicious items have been discovered yet, and detailed checks are still in progress at various locations.
