A team of food safety officers on Monday uncovered alarming conditions in all canteens within the Rajasthan High Court premises, finding them operational without necessary food licences and in deplorable sanitary conditions, officials reported.

During the inspection, officers discovered rotten potatoes, onions, and other food items. The use of artificial colors, dirty utensils, and expired products were rampant, further contributing to the unhygienic conditions.

Officials prohibited the canteen operators from conducting any commercial activities on the premises until they secure valid food licenses. Additional Commissioner of Food Safety, Pankaj Ojha, highlighted that fungus was found in a canteen's fridge, along with rusted boxes used to store spices and other food products. Shops inspected included Shop No. 15, 12, 9, Saras Dairy Booth No. 181, Shop No. 21, 19, 17, and 8.
