Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy will inaugurate the Global South Conference on Infection Prevention, Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship (G-SPARC)-2024 on October 3. An action plan on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) will be released, making Telangana the seventh Indian state to have such a plan. The conference aims to unite stakeholders from resource-limited countries for better IPC, WASH, and pandemic preparedness policies.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is set to inaugurate the three-day Global South Conference on Infection Prevention, Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship (G-SPARC)-2024 on October 3.
During the event, the state government will unveil an action plan on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), marking Telangana as the seventh Indian state to implement such a strategy. This was confirmed by Dr. Ranga Reddy Burri, president of the Infection Control Academy, and R Govind Hari, chairman of the Pragyaan Sustainable Health Outcomes Foundation.
The conference aims to offer a collaborative platform for stakeholders from resource-limited countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and South America. The goal is to foster better policies, research, and tailored solutions on Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), and pandemic preparedness.
