Union minister Dr. Jitendra Singh voiced concerns over the proliferation of unqualified health and lifestyle counsellors. He emphasized that these self-styled advisors, lacking regulation, are responsible for spreading misinformation.

Addressing an audience at the World Congress of Diabetes, Singh warned against diverse and misleading diet charts, which he suggested could confuse individuals about health facts due to their impressive presentation.

Dr. Singh, a diabetes specialist, stressed the need for a coordinated national strategy to tackle diabetes and obesity, urging collaboration among all stakeholders to address what he termed as a national responsibility.
