In a significant push towards affordable healthcare, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the 'Mudhalvar Marundhagangal' pharmacies on Monday. These pharmacies aim to provide medicines at subsidized prices, significantly reducing expenses for residents across the state.
The initiative is poised to offer substantial financial relief to individuals depending on long-term medication, with discounts on medicines reaching up to 75%. Additionally, it generates employment opportunities for 1,500 B.Pharm and D.Pharm graduates, as emphasized by the Chief Minister at the launch.
To facilitate the project's success, pharmacists and cooperative societies have received financial aid, with Rs 3 lakh allotted to entrepreneurs and Rs 2 lakh to cooperatives. Furthermore, a three-month medicine supply has been stocked across 38 district warehouses in Tamil Nadu.
