Hospital Collapse Sparks Safety Concerns

On Thursday, a section of the Government Medical College Hospital abruptly collapsed, injuring two individuals. Fortunately, their injuries were deemed non-serious, and they were treated in the hospital's casualty department.

The incident led Health Minister Veena George and Cooperation Minister V N Vasavan to the site to assess the situation firsthand. It was confirmed that the collapsed section was an unused toilet area in a ward housing building.

Approximately 100 patients were relocated as a precautionary measure. Emergency services, including police and fire crews, are conducting an investigation to ensure no individuals remain trapped in the debris.
