The Additional Chief Medical Officer of Chamoli district, Mohammad Shah Hasan, faced suspension for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, resulting in a serious accident. Authorities claim that his car collided with two motorcycle riders in Rudraprayag district, leaving them injured.
The Health Secretary R Rajesh Kumar confirmed that an official report noted Hasan's alcohol consumption during the incident. The report was submitted to the director-general of medical health and family welfare a day prior to the suspension.
Kumar highlighted that such actions blatantly violate the Uttarakhand State Employees Conduct Rules 2002. He expressed a firm stance against any form of indiscipline or negligence, stressing that such incidents risk tarnishing the credibility of the health system.
