Dengue cases in Delhi have seen a substantial decline this year, according to data released by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). The capital has recorded 1,356 dengue cases in 2025, a sharp reduction from the 5,382 infections reported in the same period last year, marking a quarter of 2024's figures.

Meanwhile, the decline in malaria cases is more modest, with 705 cases in 2025 compared to 757 last year. Despite this slight decrease, regions such as Central, Karol Bagh, and West Delhi maintain higher numbers. Encouragingly, no malaria deaths have been reported this year, aligning with a general downward trend.

Contrastingly, chikungunya cases have risen compared to the lows observed during the pandemic. With 162 cases reported so far in 2025, notably more than the 89 and 48 cases recorded in 2021 and 2022 respectively, October and November remain peak months for its spread. The MCD continues intensified efforts, issuing over 28,000 prosecutions and collecting Rs 19.8 lakh in G-8 challans to mitigate mosquito-breeding conditions.
