Elekta has announced the release of its newest linear accelerator, called Evo, into the Indian market. Previously launched in Europe, Evo brings advanced AI-enhanced imaging and adaptive radiation therapy capabilities to Indian clinicians, tailoring radiation techniques to individual patient needs.
The Evo system was prominently highlighted during the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India Conference in Kolkata and later at the Annual National Conference of the Association of Medical Physicists of India in Guwahati, signaling its importance in the oncological field.
Feras Al Hasan of Elekta emphasized the innovation Evo offers for India's radiotherapy landscape, enabling personalized treatments. The system supports both online and offline adaptive methods, significantly benefiting Indian patients with complex and advanced diseases. Shankar Seshadri from Elekta highlighted that the Evo system meets India's rising cancer treatment demands while fostering market growth in the region.
