Real estate player, Brigade Hotel Ventures Ltd, on Sunday said that the budget has given the 'strategic recognition' to the tourism sector. City-headquartered Aarthi Scans and Labs also lauded the budget terming it as clear, and strengthening healthcare capacity. Vineet Verma, Director of Brigade Hotel Ventures Ltd said the budget's emphasis on tourism goes beyond infrastructure and rightly addresses the sector's biggest gap, skilled human capital, ''The emphasis on infrastructure led development, experiential tourism and ease of doing business sends a strong signal to investors and operators alike. This can accelerate asset creation, improve quality standards and unlock the sector's true economic potential. '' he said in a statement. Commenting on the budget, Aarthi Scans and Labs said that it is clear and has investment-led focus on strengthening healthcare capacity. The firm's Founder and Managing Director V Govindarajan said, it is reassuring to see diagnostics acknowledged as a critical pillar of preventive care and timely treatment. ''The expansion of Allied Health Professional Institutions and the addition of one lakh professionals across radiology and allied disciplines directly address the skilled manpower gap faced by diagnostic networks as they scale into tier II and III markets,'' he said in a release. ''The emphasis on training multiskilled caregivers and strengthening geriatric care will further support preventive testing, chronic disease monitoring and home based diagnostics,'' the press release added. Sitharaman while presenting her ninth consecutive budget, said the government proposes to upgrade existing Allied Health Professionals Institutions and one lakh Allied Health Professionals would be added over the next 5 years. Govindarajan further said, ''The proposed Regional Medical Value Tourism hubs, integrating diagnostics with clinical care, research, education and AYUSH (in the union budget), also signal a strong push towards globally competitive healthcare ecosystems. '' To promote India as a hub for medical tourism services, the Union Budget proposes to launch a scheme to support states in establishing five Regional Medical Hubs in partnership with the private sector. These Hubs would serve as integrated healthcare complexes that combine medical, educational and research facilities.
