The Milano Cortina Winter Olympics and Paralympics have already sold nearly 1.2 million tickets, as reported by the local organizers on Monday. Ice hockey has emerged as the most popular event, indicating high demand among fans.

This ticket figure signifies approximately 75% of the entire capacity, with the Games set to commence this Friday, followed by the Paralympics next month. A highlight for ice hockey enthusiasts is the participation of North American NHL players, marking their return since 2014. Organizers are working relentlessly to finalize the new Santagiulia ice hockey stadium in Milan ahead of the event.

To further enhance attendance, a special promotion offering two tickets for the price of one for selected events will be available from Wednesday to Friday. These events include curling in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Sweden vs Germany women's ice hockey in Milan, and men's big air snowboard qualification in Livigno. Noteworthy is the ski mountaineering event in Bormio, which has already sold out its tickets.
