In the wake of a newborn's tragic death at Nedumangad district hospital, the Kerala Government Medical Officers' Association (KGMOA) has demanded firm legal measures against those allegedly involved in attacking medical professionals.
The association criticized the recent violence and ''mob trial'' targeting hospital staff, emphasizing that medical professionals are committed to providing quality care despite constraints. The KGMOA announced February 18 as a protest day in the district.
They demanded adherence to the Kerala Healthcare Service Persons and Healthcare Service Institutions Act and requested an expert committee for an impartial inquiry. Meanwhile, police initiated a case under Section 194 of the BNSS, even as local political activists staged demonstrations seeking accountability from hospital authorities.
