A synagogue in the Belgian city of Liege sustained damage from an explosion that occurred early Monday morning, as reported by Belgian broadcaster VRT, citing information from local police.
No injuries were reported in the incident that took place around 4 a.m. local time (0300 GMT). The blast shattered the windows of the synagogue and a building across the street, according to the broadcaster.
The street has been cordoned off by police while a specialized counter-terrorism team conducts an investigation. Local police have not yet provided comments on the situation.
