The Delhi government is set to launch 20 new advanced geriatric ambulances to bolster emergency healthcare services for senior citizens, Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh announced on Wednesday.
These ambulances, exclusively designed for the elderly, will come equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities aiming to improve the city's response times and quality of pre-hospital care.
Currently, the Centralised Accident and Trauma Services (CATS) operates 331 ambulances. With these new additions, the fleet will expand to 351, marking a significant enhancement in Delhi's emergency response capacity. The effort aligns with the government's broader healthcare strategy, underpinned by a Rs 13,034 crore budget for the health sector.
