Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, sharply criticized the government on Friday, alleging that a recent agreement with the United States undermines national interests. He contended that no uncompromised Prime Minister would have endorsed such a deal.
Drawing attention to a recent speech by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gandhi noted a lack of energy in the Prime Minister's delivery, tying it to the date, April 16, which he cryptically labeled as the solution to a 'puzzle.' He engaged in a heated debate over the Centre's plan to redefine political boundaries alongside amendments to the women's quota legislation passed in 2023.
Gandhi stressed the urgency of implementing the Nari Shakti Act to empower women, rejecting the government's current approach. Accusing the BJP-led central government of trying to 'rejig the entire political map of India,' he warned against attempts to retain power by manipulating representation, particularly in smaller states.
