In a heartfelt appeal, Jammu and Kashmir's Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has urged residents to take a pledge for organ donation, highlighting the act's reverence across various faiths. Speaking at 'Naman Diwas', an event honoring organ donors and their families, Sinha championed the transformative power of this selfless act.
Praising the efforts of the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (SOTTO) in Jammu and Kashmir, Sinha called for enhanced outreach and awareness campaigns, leveraging platforms such as social networks, community gatherings, educational institutions, and religious venues to maximize impact.
Sinha reassured those hesitant due to cultural or religious concerns by reminding them of the inherent virtues of organ donation. He emphasized the humanitarian movement driven by SOTTO's collaborations with hospitals and NGOs, and encouraged increased donor registration, highlighting his own commitment through his registration on the Ayushman Bharat Organ Donation Registry.
