A family in south Mumbai faced an unexpected tragedy after four members succumbed to suspected food poisoning from watermelon consumption. The family had gathered for a get-together, enjoying a main dish of chicken pulav, followed by watermelon.
Shortly after the guests departed, the family experienced symptoms like vomiting and dizziness. Abdullah, 40, his wife Nasrin, 35, and their daughters, Zainab, 13, and Ayesha, 16, were hospitalized. Despite efforts, all family members succumbed to their condition, with Abdullah being the last to pass away.
The incident is being investigated as accidental death, with officials pointing to watermelon as the source. A histopathology report is pending to confirm the precise cause.
