WHO Assures Low Public Risk from Hantavirus Outbreak on Cruise Ship
The World Health Organization stated that the general public faces a low risk from a hantavirus outbreak linked to a Netherlands-based cruise ship. While three people have died and three others are ill, WHO emphasized that there is no need for panic or travel restrictions.

The World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Monday that the hantavirus outbreak associated with a cruise ship docked in the Netherlands poses a low risk to the general population.
This comes after three fatalities and three illnesses were reported aboard the vessel, spurring public concern.
Despite the situation, Dr. Hans Henri P. Kluge, WHO's regional director for Europe, assured that no travel restrictions or panic are warranted at this time.
