India and Japan have pledged to enhance their collaboration in the health sector. At the Joint Committee Meeting on Healthcare, both nations discussed strategies for improving health systems, focusing on technology, innovation, and resilience in supply chains and digital health infrastructure.

India and Japan have committed to expanding their bilateral cooperation in healthcare. Union Health Minister JP Nadda emphasized the shared vision of both countries in enhancing health systems, accessibility, and promoting innovation at the third Joint Committee Meeting on Healthcare, held in Bharat Mandapam.
During the meeting, which Nadda co-chaired with Japan's minister in charge of Healthcare Policy, Kimi Onoda, discussions centered on areas such as non-communicable diseases, supply chain resilience, and digital health. India highlighted its strategy to tackle rising non-communicable diseases based on screening and care, while Japan shared its initiatives in cancer screening and early diagnosis.
Both countries acknowledged the strength of their respective pharmaceutical sectors, committing to boosting domestic manufacturing and ensuring accessible medical products. The meeting set a clear direction for reinforcing resilient and inclusive health systems, underscoring the enduring India-Japan relationship.
