The Rajasthan government has ordered an investigation following a distressing incident where several women's health declined after postpartum treatment at the New Medical College Hospital in Kota.
State Medical and Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar has mandated a thorough inquiry and deployed a team of four expert doctors from Sawai Man Singh Medical College to Kota to strengthen treatment protocols. The affected women, one of whom has unfortunately passed, are currently receiving care at the Super Speciality Block hospital under specialist supervision.
The Jaipur team comprises experts in anaesthesia, medicine, obstetrics, gynaecology, and nephrology, who are tasked with evaluating the treatments administered. The government has emphasized that this inquiry will be time-bound, with necessary actions to be implemented upon identifying any medical negligence.
