Corruption Unveiled: MP Medical Officers Caught in Kickback Scandal

In a significant crackdown on corruption, Lokayukta police in Barwani, Madhya Pradesh, apprehended three government medical officers on allegations of accepting commissions for patient referrals to a private pathology laboratory.

Identified as Dr. Amit Shakya, Dr. Divya Sai, and Dr. Manohar Godara, the trio served at the Community Health Centre in Rajpur town. They were arrested at their residences while allegedly taking bribes.

The arrests followed a complaint by Adnan Ali, manager of a private lab, who claimed the doctors demanded a 20% cut for patient referrals. The Lokayukta has filed cases under corruption laws, and the investigation is ongoing.
