Doctors at an Indore-based hospital removed a football-sized tumour weighing nearly three kilograms from the abdomen of a woman suffering from multiple health complications, an official said on Friday.
Dr Manoranjan Barnwal, neurologist at Care CHL Hospital, said the 48-year-old woman was admitted with complaints of severe abdominal pain and excessive bleeding.
''Medical examination showed a large fibroid in her abdomen. The case was complicated because the patient had suffered a serious brain-related ailment four months ago,'' he said.
Barnwal said a team of doctors safely removed the nearly three kilogram tumour during surgery.
He said the patient's condition was stable after the operation and she was under medical observation.
