Amidst forecasts of continued heatwaves, the Tamil Nadu government has issued an updated health advisory to guide public response. The Regional Meteorological Centre has warned residents, especially in coastal regions, about potential discomfort from high temperatures and humidity.
Temperatures have soared past 40 degrees Celsius in several areas, including Chennai's 41.1 degrees, as detailed in a recent bulletin. The advisory underscores that infants, children, pregnant women, and the elderly are at higher risk of heat-induced illnesses. The state has enhanced its health facilities to manage such conditions and is actively running public awareness campaigns about heat risks.
