A recent study conducted by Osaka Metropolitan University suggests a correlation between vitamin B12 and folate deficiencies, and increased fatigue in men, as well as reduced motivation in women. The study observed elevated levels of homocysteine, a known biomarker, associated with these nutritional gaps.

As reported in the journal Nutrients, over 600 healthy Japanese individuals participated in this research where their blood homocysteine, folate, and vitamin B12 levels were measured. Questionnaires assessed their fatigue and motivation. Lead researcher Hiroaki Kanouchi emphasized the need for a balanced diet to avoid these deficiencies, which can lead to significant impacts on daily life performance.
