Uganda's health ministry has refuted the rumours of new Ebola cases in Mbarara district after a stir on social media raised concerns among the public. Authorities have clarified that there is no confirmed case of Ebola in Mbarara district, in an official press release.

The ministry has further clarified that there are no new cases registered in any other districts and the last Ebola case was registered 4 days ago. The release further elaborated the steps being taken to tackle the outbreak.

The release, however, added that the outbreak is very real and urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspected cases to the nearest health facility or call their toll-free number.
