The Kentucky Derby, the first jewel in North American horse racing's Triple Crown, scheduled for May 2, will be postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak, local media reported on Monday.
The race will instead be held on Sept. 5, the Louisville Courier Journal and television station WDRB said.
Churchill Downs, which hosts the annual race, is set to hold a conference call with reporters on Tuesday.
