COVID 19 Precautions: VisionRI asks employees to work from home

The management has asked all the employees to be available online during the working hours and can use their own personal internet data which will be reimbursed by the company. Besides, all the employees have been asked to stay connected through the WhatsApp groups as well for better coordination.

In light of the novel coronavirus (COVID 19), India’s prestigious global development consulting firm VisionRI on Thursday decided to close its head office in sector 7, Sonepat and allowed all the employees to work from home. The management asserted that there is no suspected case of COVID 19 but the entire exercise is purely precautionary in nature.

“As the COVID 19 is spreading very fast, we cannot take the risk that neither has any short term nor long term gain. We all should do our bit to prevent the further spread of the virus. Several of our employees commute from Delhi and other cities. Therefore, it becomes imminent to do our bit to prevent the spread of the virus at the community level,” said Mr. J. P. Singh, Managing Director, VisionRI. “The management will be available online for coordination to ensure that the output and performance are maintained,” he added. The journalists working with the global media platform of the group – Devdiscourse.com, have also been asked to work from home, informed Singh.

Earlier, the management had provided sanitizers and masks to the employees. Besides, some employees who were required frequent travel to Delhi and other cities have confirmed cases of COVID 19 were also asked to work from home. "We have been regularly monitoring the situation since the epidemic was first reported in the Wuhan city of China and subsequently declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. We will take further decisions on the basis of the situation in India and neighbourhood cities to Sonepat," he added. The employees staying in the company guest house in sector 8 has also been asked to remain to stay in their allocated accommodations in the guest house and avoid any unnecessary travel. "All the employees staying in the guest house has been directed to avoid visiting shops, Dhabas and restaurants along with the GT Road. All should take maximum possible precautions in preventing the spread of the virus," cautioned Mr. Singh.

VisionRI is presently providing development consultancy services to several development projects in over one dozen Asian and African countries funded by the World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), African Development Bank (AfDB) and other international and national funding agencies.
