Abu Dhabi [UAE], July 30 (ANI/WAM): Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice, emphasized the significance of observing World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on July 30. This day aims to raise awareness and foster global and regional cooperation to combat this heinous crime and bring perpetrators to justice.
Al Nuaimi stated that under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE has committed to eradicating human trafficking, recognizing it as one of the most dangerous international criminal phenomena. The National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking has continually updated policies and laws to address the evolving nature of this crime, including the enactment of stringent new legislation in 2023.
He also announced the launch of an electronic system by the Ministry of Justice, designed to refer victims of human trafficking swiftly, protecting their rights and human dignity. Al Nuaimi stressed that international cooperation and solidarity are crucial in combating this transnational crime effectively.
