In a stirring display of prowess, Ghala Al Hammadi from the UAE defended her gold medal at the IMMAF Youth World Championships held at Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi. Dominating the finals, she showcased remarkable technical skills and strength to defeat Ireland's Emily Hannick by unanimous decision.
The UAE National Team maintained their winning momentum on the second day of the championships, specifically dedicated to the Youth B (14-15 years) division. Maryam Almutwa added to the team's success by earning a bronze in the Women's 52 kg category, bringing the medal tally to six. The IMMAF Youth World Championships, running under the patronage of Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, will continue until August 10th.
Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, praised the team's exceptional performance, attributing their success to the unwavering support of the leadership and the federation's strategic plans. He noted the vibrant atmosphere at Mubadala Arena, filled with enthusiastic fans and athletes from diverse cultures, emphasizing the event's role in promoting sportsmanship, respect, and tolerance. IMMAF Vice President Wissam Abi Nader expressed his delight at being back in Abu Dhabi, announcing the extension of the hosting agreement for another three years with the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation. He highlighted the event's increasing athlete participation, focused attention on youth development, and continual enhancements in the technical and administrative aspects of the championships.
