President Droupadi Murmu laid a wreath at the Pukeahu National War Memorial Park in Wellington, New Zealand on Thursday, signifying a momentous occasion on her three-nation tour.

Earlier in the day, New Zealand Governor General Dame Cindy Kiro accorded President Murmu a warm reception, which included a traditional Maori 'Powhiri' ceremony and a Royal Guard of Honour. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) highlighted the deepening partnership via a post on X, noting the warm welcome extended by New Zealand's Governor General.

During her state visit, President Murmu is scheduled to meet with New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, address an education conference, and engage with the Indian community and friends of India. Prior to arriving in New Zealand, President Murmu visited Fiji where she received the nation's highest civilian award, the 'Companion of the Order of Fiji', signifying the strong bonds between the two countries.

The President's tour will conclude in Timor-Leste, where she will engage in meetings at the invitation of President Jose Ramos-Horta. This six-day journey underlines India's ongoing efforts to strengthen international relationships.
