Days after the Baloch Yakhjetic Committee (BYC) ended its sit-in protest at Gwadar against alleged forced disappearances, they continue to hold rallies across the province. On Monday, BYC organized a significant public gathering at Shahwani Stadium in Quetta, attended by thousands in memory of the martyrs of the Baloch National Gathering.
The event commenced with the Baloch National Anthem and a national oath led by BYC organizer Mahrang Baloch. Leaders underscored the struggles, state repression, and victories of the Baloch National Gathering. They declared the Quetta gathering a milestone for national unity. "This people's movement, rooted in the populace, resists suppression by violence or false narratives," Mahrang said.
Previously, on August 11, thousands gathered in Nushki to pledge unity against state oppression. They paid homage to martyrs and emphasized ending tribal conflicts exacerbated by external influences. The rallies follow the Baloch National Gathering in Gwadar on July 28, where activists faced state violence. After ending the Gwadar sit-in, BYC vowed to continue rallies to amplify their cause.
