The UAE continues its unwavering humanitarian mission in Sudan, having provided $3.5 billion in aid between 2014 and 2024. Since the conflict's escalation in 2023, the UAE has injected an additional $230 million, as confirmed by the UAE Embassy in India.
Over 159 aid flights have delivered 10,000 tonnes of food, medical supplies, and relief materials. Moreover, two field hospitals in Chad have offered medical care to thousands of Sudanese refugees. Specifically, the Amdjarass Field Hospital has treated 24,741 patients, while the Abeche Field Hospital has attended to 21,761 individuals.
In April, at the International Humanitarian Conference for Sudan and Neighboring Countries in Paris, the UAE pledged over $100 million, including $70 million to UN humanitarian interventions in Sudan. The funds also include $30 million for neighboring countries' refugees. Additionally, the UAE has contributed millions to organizations such as the World Food Programme, UNHCR, WHO, and UNICEF.
The UAE has further allocated $5 million each to OCHA and the FAO. 'The UAE remains committed to supporting the Sudanese people during these challenging times, providing essential humanitarian aid and medical assistance,' the UAE Embassy in India reaffirmed.
