In a crucial diplomatic engagement, Jaideep Mazumdar, Secretary East of India's Ministry of External Affairs, met with Singapore's Permanent Secretary for Law and Second Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Luke Goh, in Delhi on Monday. The meeting focused on a broad range of bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest. Randhir Jaiswal, Ministry of External Affairs' official spokesperson, remarked on social media platform X, "Secy (East) @JaideepMazumder met Permanent Secretary for Law and Second Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Singapore, Luke Goh in New Delhi today. Discussions covered bilateral, regional and important international issues of mutual interest."

Previously in July, India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with Singapore's Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan during the ASEAN meeting held in Vientiane, Laos. Jaishankar expressed gratitude to Singapore for its role in fostering ASEAN-India ties over the past three years. He posted on X, "Thank Singapore for steering ASEAN-India relations in the last three years as Country Coordinator. We spoke about creating a new agenda for our bilateral ties. Also appreciated his thoughts on the current geopolitical situation."

On June 27, Simon Wong, Singapore's High Commissioner to India, praised India's future prospects following President Droupadi Murmu's address to the joint session of Parliament, declaring it "indeed India's century." Wong shared his optimism about the future of India-Singapore relations, stating on X, "This is indeed India's Century! Singapore looks fwd to taking our excellent bilat rlns to even great heights. Jai Hind!" Wong and his delegation attended the address, capturing moments within the Parliament, including a selfie with fellow diplomats.

India-Singapore relations have long been anchored in strong commercial, cultural, and people-to-people ties, according to the Indian High Commission in Singapore. These ties are reinforced by shared values, economic opportunities, and mutual interests on key global issues.
