US President Joe Biden summed up his political career at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago on Monday, candidly acknowledging he was 'too young' to enter the Senate and is now 'too old' to continue as President.

In his 49-minute speech, which received over four minutes of applause, Biden pledged to be the 'best volunteer' for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz's campaign. 'I gave my best to you, America,' he stated, while endorsing Harris as a future President respected by world leaders and admired by children.

Addressing the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, Biden emphasized efforts to prevent a wider war and deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. Secretary of State Antony Blinken mentioned that Israel has approved a ceasefire plan, but Hamas yet to accept it. Biden announced in June that he would not seek re-election, pointing to concerns over his age.
