The Baloch Women Forum convened its third general meeting on Thursday, stressing the crucial role of Baloch women in the ongoing national struggle and calling for their continued leadership amid oppression. Under the leadership of Dr. Shelly Baloch, the event saw the attendance of 10 key members.

Dr. Baloch highlighted the historical significance of Baloch women's contributions, noting that the strength and determination of 'Baloch lionesses' have been storied for long. She emphasized that modern Baloch women are now defining their roles through meaningful actions.

'History shows that societies progress through action, not just by living and dreaming,' Dr. Baloch said, urging Baloch women to seize current opportunities. She cautioned that failing to adapt to evolving challenges would harm not only women but the entire Baloch community.

A rough translation of a post from the Baloch Women Forum on X echoed these sentiments, quoting Dr. Baloch: 'The struggle of Baloch lionesses was once written in story books, but today, Baloch women are giving meaning to their role with these writings. If Baloch women soldiers do not keep pace with the times, it will not only be an external loss but will trample the entire Baloch community under oppression.'

The meeting's agenda included a six-month report presented by the Secretary-General, who expressed confidence in the Forum's progress. The report stressed continuous self-assessment and proactive community engagement. 'We must avoid stagnation and strive to improve our efforts, much like cleansing with fresh water,' the Secretary-General remarked.

The need for constructive criticism within appropriate platforms was also highlighted, ensuring critiques serve growth and development rather than mere fault-finding. Participants discussed the unique challenges faced by a colonized nation and the need to address these with community support.

The meeting emphasized aligning with people's needs and preparing them for steps to advance the national struggle. The Forum also underscored the formation of women's wings and groups, which are crucial for empowering Baloch women to take more responsibility in the national struggle. The event concluded with a renewed commitment to advancing women's roles in the Baloch liberation movement.
