UAE Leads 114th Arab Economic and Social Council Session

The UAE chairs the 114th regular session of the Arab Economic and Social Council to discuss joint Arab cooperation in economic and social fields. The session will include key meetings, focusing on sustainable development, social equity, and economic strategies, concluding with a ministerial meeting adopting final decisions.

The UAE is set to chair the 114th regular session of the Arab Economic and Social Council (AESC) starting tomorrow and continuing until next Thursday at the Arab League's headquarters in Cairo. This session will focus on enhancing joint Arab cooperation in economic and social sectors.

A series of key meetings will gather ministers, officials, and experts from various Arab countries to discuss priority economic and social issues. The agenda aims to boost Arab cooperation and achieve sustainable development across the region. Preparatory meetings kick off with the Social Committee, which will delve into topics such as lifetime education, social support, equity, and the Arab Decade for Literacy and Adult Education.

The Council will also explore international Arab cooperation in social and developmental areas, alongside reviewing reports and decisions from ministerial councils and specialised committees. The Economic Committee meetings, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, will focus on food security, sustainable management of resources, and overall economic strategies. Senior officials will convene on Wednesday to finalize recommendations, leading to a ministerial meeting on Thursday to adopt these decisions.
