Amidst a police blockade, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) organized a peaceful protest in Hub Chowki on Monday, voicing opposition to enforced disappearances of Baloch youths. The demonstration was part of an ongoing series of protests themed 'Breaking the Silence: Standing Against Enforced Disappearances'. Families of the missing individuals joined the gathering, seeking justice and narrating their sorrowful stories.

In a statement posted on platform X, BYC declared, 'The resistance remains strong, and the voices of the Baloch, alongside those of affected families, cannot be silenced by roadblocks or violence. This movement against enforced disappearances, viewed as part of the Baloch genocide, will continue throughout Balochistan despite efforts to intimidate it.' This protest follows a similar one in Karachi where police employed violence and arrested participants.

The issue of enforced disappearances in Balochistan is seen as a critical human rights violation, often involving individuals being taken by governmental or military forces. The Baloch community has long demanded rights and control over their local resources, but these demands are frequently met with violence by Pakistani authorities, creating an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty among Baloch nationalists.

Among recent cases, Pakistani security forces forcibly disappeared three men from the Panjgur and Khuzdar districts on October 18th. During a peaceful protest, Karachi Police arrested BYC's Central Deputy Organizer Lala Wahab Bloch and four others. The BYC, a political and social welfare organization dedicated to uniting Baloch nationalists, continues advocating for political rights and welfare of the Baloch community despite these challenges.
