In a disturbing incident in Beijing's Haidian district, five individuals, including three children, suffered injuries in a stabbing attack. Chinese police reported that the attack took place at 3:20 p.m. local time on Monday, leading to the swift apprehension of the 50-year-old suspect, Tang, at the scene.
According to eyewitness accounts shared on social media, two children were found lying unresponsive, one still wearing a backpack, while an adult administered care to another. Police confirmed the attack occurred at an intersection near Zhongguancun No. 3 Elementary School but assured the public that the injuries were not life-threatening.
This incident is the latest in a series of violent attacks in China. Earlier this month, a knife attack at a Shanghai supermarket resulted in three deaths. Nationwide, these violent outbursts, including attacks on schoolchildren, have sparked a serious public safety concern despite China's typically low crime rate.
