R. Kelly's attorney denies abuse allegations in documentary

An attorney for R. Kelly on Friday called a new documentary series about the R&B singer a "for-profit hit piece," and said the latest accusations of abuse by the Grammy-winning musician were a "complete fabrication." The six-hour documentary "Surviving R. Kelly," which aired earlier this month on U.S. cable channel Lifetime, includes allegations from multiple women who accuse Kelly of sexual misconduct, sometimes with minors.

Anne-Marie, Dua Lipa and George Ezra among BRIT Awards nominees

Singers Anne-Marie, Dua Lipa, Jess Glynne and George Ezra are among the nominees for next month's BRIT Awards, Britain's annual pop music honors, in a list dominated by young talent. Anne-Marie is in the running for four prizes - British Female Solo Artist, Mastercard British Album of the Year for "Speak Your Mind", British Single and British Artist Video of the Year for "2002" at the British Record Industry Trust (BRIT) awards, to be held on Feb. 20 in London.

Box Office: 'The Upside' surprises at no. 1 with $19.5 million, 'Aquaman' smashes $1 billion

In a surprise box office victory, STX's "The Upside" doubled expectations with its $19.5 million debut, enough to defeat "Aquaman's" three-week reign in North America. Bryan Cranston and Kevin Hart co-star in "The Upside," which marks the studio's first No. 1 opening. It also ranks as STX Film's second-best start behind "Bad Moms," which launched with $23 million in 2016.

Top Bollywood director Hirani denies sexual assault allegations

Renowned Bollywood director Rajkumar Hirani has denied allegations that he sexually assaulted a subordinate over a period of six months in 2018. Hirani, known for feel-good, comedy films that have grossed record numbers at the Indian box-office, was named in a Huffington Post India story on Sunday.

Maroon 5 to play Super Bowl halftime show

Pop band Maroon 5 will provide the halftime entertainment at next month's Super Bowl in Atlanta in a show that will also feature rappers Travis Scott and Big Boi, the National Football League said on Sunday. Maroon 5, a three-times Grammy-winning group led by Adam Levine, will be joined by rising star Scott and Atlanta, Georgia native Big Boi, who was previously one half of rap group Outcast.

Jon Snow - and death - take center stage in Game of Thrones trailer

Final Season is coming - and it's all about Jon Snow, and (just for a change) it portends death. Or at least that's the impression U.S. satellite network HBO chooses to give in the teaser for Game of Thrones that it unveiled on primetime TV on Sunday night.
