Lakers hope for good news about LeBron

LeBron James had a productive day at the Los Angeles Lakers' shootaround on Tuesday, and coach Luke Walton said the team is optimistic that encouraging news about their superstar is forthcoming.

James, who has missed 10 games with a groin injury, is scheduled for a medical evaluation on Wednesday. At the shootaround, he was more active than he has been, shooting and passing in half-court activities.

"I think we'll get good news back," Walton said, according to ESPN.

James has not taken part in any full-court team activities since he suffered the injury in the Lakers' Christmas Day victory over the Golden State Warriors.

The Lakers (23-21) have gone 3-7 without James and have fallen into ninth place in the Western Conference standings entering Tuesday's home game against the Chicago Bulls.

On Monday, injured point guard Rajon Rondo was cleared by doctors to dribble with his right hand. He also was injured in the Christmas game and three days later had surgery to repair a ligament in his right ring finger. It was estimated he would miss four to five weeks.

James and Rondo both practiced 3-pointers at Tuesday's shootaround.

"I was encouraged," Walton said. "(Always) good to see those two on the court."
