The focus is on fortifying bilateral ties through advancements in defense, artificial intelligence, and civil space exploration.

Central to these announcements is the U.S.-India TRUST initiative, poised to drive collaboration across government, academic, and private sectors. This initiative seeks to leverage critical and emerging technologies in sectors such as defense, AI, semiconductors, and biotechnology while emphasizing secure technology vendor use and protection of sensitive tech.

In another groundbreaking move, the leaders launched the INDUS Innovation platform modeled after the successful INDUS-X, aimed at enhancing academic and industry partnerships in emerging technologies. This initiative underscores a joint commitment to align on space exploration, critical mineral recovery, and advanced manufacturing to sustain innovation leadership in the 21st century.

Furthermore, leaders consider 2025 as a milestone year for US-India civil space initiatives, with plans to send an Indian astronaut to the ISS and launching joint missions like NISAR. In a commitment to deepen expertise, the partnership between U.S. National Science Foundation and Indian Anusandhan National Research Foundation will focus on critical technology research. This collaboration strengthens ongoing efforts to address export controls and enhance technology commerce, against the backdrop of third-party challenges in supply chains.
