Denmark has officially unveiled its Green Transition Alliance India (GTAI) to fortify ties with India in the realm of sustainable energy solutions. This move highlights both nations' determination to achieve global carbon neutrality. The Danish Embassy emphasized that the initiative, steered by the Embassy and Consulate General of Denmark in India, aims to create a collaborative ecosystem connecting businesses, government agencies, researchers, and financial stakeholders from both countries.

Denmark's Ambassador to India, Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen, stated that urgent action on climate change requires international cooperation. Danish companies bring invaluable expertise, complementing India's growing prowess in sustainable energy. Kristensen expressed optimism about the Green Strategic Partnership's impact and believes the Green Transition Alliance will further bolster efforts for innovative green energy solutions.

Prominent Danish corporations including Grundfos, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, and A. P. Moller-Maersk have joined the GTAI. Key strategic partners like the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras Energy Consortium will drive innovation and industry alignment. As India moves towards its net zero emissions target for 2070, Denmark aims to achieve the same by 2045, with the GTAI marking another milestone under the Green Strategic Partnership (GSP) established in 2020.

The GTAI will operate as a platform for leading entities in the global green transition, riding on the accomplishments of previous initiatives such as the Green Fuels Alliance India (GFAI). The alliance comprises three Working Groups focusing on Renewable Energy, Green Fuels, and Energy Efficiency, aiming to keep pace with evolving industry trends in both Denmark and India.
