Pistons C Drummond enters concussion protocal

Detroit Pistons standout center Andre Drummond will miss Saturday night's game against the Sacramento Kings after being placed in the NBA concussion protocol. Drummond took a blow to his nose from Miami's James Johnson during the first quarter of Friday's 98-93 win over the Heat.

A pass was lobbed in the direction of Drummond near the basket and Johnson's left elbow smashed into Drummond's nose. The 6-foot-11 Drummond went down to the floor in pain. He left the contest and didn't return. The Pistons said after the contest that Drummond suffered a nasal injury.

Drummond is averaging 16.3 points, a league-leading 14.9 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 44 games this season. --Field Level Media
