Greek parliament to vote on Macedonia name deal on Thursday
- Country:
- Greece
Greece's parliament will vote on an accord on Thursday to end a longstanding dispute between Athens and Skopje over Macedonia's name, a parliament official told Reuters on Monday, declining to be named. The agreement clinched between Athens and Skopje last year was ratified by Macedonia's parliament earlier this month. Greek parliamentary endorsement is necessary for the tiny Balkan nation to start the process of joining the European Union and NATO.
