A ninth-grader studying Sanskrit conveyed, "I am thrilled yet nervous to perform for Prime Minister Modi, joining classmates in welcoming him with a traditional Sanskrit Swagatam song."
In the village of La Laura-Malenga in Moka District, residents are orchestrating special celebrations for the Prime Minister's visit, coinciding with Holi. This visit reinforces the deep-rooted cultural and historical ties between Mauritius and India. Scheduled for March 11-12, PM Modi's visit, confirmed by Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, includes attending National Day celebrations on March 12 as the chief guest. Festivities will feature Indian Defence Forces and the Indian Navy's involvement.
During his stay, PM Modi will engage with both the President of Mauritius and Prime Minister Naveen Chandra Ramgoolam. This marks Modi's second visit, with the first occurring in 2015. Announcing the visit in the Mauritian Parliament, Prime Minister Ramgoolam described it as a "singular privilege," lauding the honour of hosting such a distinguished guest, especially amidst PM Modi's busy schedule.
Ramgoolam emphasized that the visit underscores the "strong and enduring relationship" between the two nations. As Mauritius readies for its National Day, PM Modi's visit is expected to strengthen diplomatic ties further. (ANI)
