External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has reaffirmed the strategic partnership between India and Japan, meeting with Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya during the Quad Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Washington, DC. The talks addressed infrastructure, investment, and Indo-Pacific engagement.

Jaishankar, present in the US at the invitation of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, attended the meeting aimed at deepening regional cooperation. Discussions focused on reviewing Quad initiatives and exploring new proposals to enhance their shared vision for a free and open Indo-Pacific.

While in the US, Jaishankar emphasized strong India-US relations, citing advancements under the last five American presidents. Ongoing trade talks were highlighted, with optimism for a successful conclusion. Additionally, Jaishankar underscored India's stance against terrorism during an exhibition at the UN Headquarters.
