In Shimla, exiled Tibetans marked the 11th Panchen Lama's 37th birthday on Saturday with prayers and hopes for his return. Celebrations organized by Tibetan groups sought to draw global attention to his long-standing disappearance since 1995.

Lhakpa Tsering, Chief Representative of the Central Tibetan Administration, highlighted the spiritual and cultural importance of the Panchen Lama, a revered figure in Tibetan Buddhism. He stressed the need for international intervention to determine his welfare.

With the Panchen Lama's fate shrouded in mystery, Tibetan communities worldwide observe his birthday symbolically. They continue to advocate for his release, underscoring a broader struggle against religious suppression and cultural erosion by Chinese authorities.
